Monica Madura, EdD, serves as Director of Retention and Student Services in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Iowa, where she leads college-wide initiatives in student success, retention, and graduation aligned with institutional priorities. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, Monica is known for turning strategy into action by bringing people, data, and systems together to drive meaningful results. Her work focuses on designing and implementing proactive interventions that identify and address barriers early, reframe academic challenges, and normalize help-seeking behaviors. She is committed to building sustainable systems and empowering teams to support student progress, helping students navigate complexity, persist through challenges, and achieve their academic goals while also helping institutions better deliver on their promise of student success.
